NGC 3184

NGC 3184 is a face-on spiral galaxy about 40 million light-years away in Ursa Major. Its arms are dotted with bright pink star-forming H II regions, two of which are catalogued separately as NGC 3180 and NGC 3181. The galaxy is relatively rich in heavy elements and has produced several supernovae over the past century.
